Research on family related issues
Management, policymaking, problem resolution, and prevention of problems depend on several things: research, scientific and structural approach to problem solving, short term and long-term goals. Many times in Curacao, Bonaire and the Dutch Caribbean (Saba and Sint Eustatuis), we depend on information and theories that are not culturally sensitive, i.e., information and theory based and developed in other countries. Some of this information may or may not relate to our people. We aim to do research in Curacao, Bonaire and the Dutch Caribbean Islands in order to provide government agencies, professionals, organizations (NGO) and families with scientifically validated information based on our context, in order to contribute and help decision making parties by providing culturally sensitive information on which to base their policy, management, treatment and approaches.
We intend to make research that may apply to or benefit us, even though it was conducted in other countries accessible to local agencies and families in Curacao, Bonaire, Aruba and Dutch Caribbean Island.
